Today, December 12th, BFIS students from 9th and 10th grade enjoyed an optional full day workshop about computational thinking brought to us by Harbour Space University. It featured Dr. Yahia Tabesh (Sharif University and Stanford University) – a renowned mathematician who, among other accolades, has trained the youngest Fields medalist.
Computational Thinking is the thought processes involved in formulating a problem and expressing its solution in such a way that can effectively be carry out. It involves 21st century fundamental skills for everyone, including creativity, modeling and also team work as the bases but also consists of specific skills such as logical and algorithmic thinking.
Our students also had the chance to listen to famed entrepreneur Kamran Elahian (co-founder of 10 high-tech companies and founding instructor of Harbour Space
University) to talk about latest trends in the job market involving computational thinking skills.
