- Matriculation Fees
The yearly matriculation fee is per student and non-refundable. Matriculation fees collected form part of the general fund used to finance school operations. Collecting matriculation fees in spring permits early placement of instructional material orders that must be made several months prior to the start of the academic year. Matriculation fees also include a Parent Teacher Association membership fee of 10 euros per student. - Tuition Fees
These fees cover the operational costs of the school, including salaries, instructional expenses, administrative expenses, facilities expenses, etc… A 20% fee reduction is applied for the third child from the same family, and a 30% reduction for children thereafter. A discount of 2% is applied to tuition for those families that prepay tuition in full. - Capital Fund Fees
The Capital Fund Fee is a one-time charge for a newly enrolled student and is non-refundable. This fee allows the school to make investments in technology and physical infrastructure that fall outside the scope of our annual operating budget. Payment must be made in full. It may be paid in installments. - Lunch Fees
This optional fee is charged to those families choosing to enroll their children in our lunch program. Take a look at our menu here - Additional Charges
Additional charges may be added to tuition for cultural field trips, optional parties, extra-curricular classes, and special programs. - Bus Fees
This optional fee is charged to those families choosing to use the bus service either in the morning, afternoons or both. Please consult the fee schedule for current rates and routes.

Tuition, capital fund, lunch and bus fees may be paid in several ways: yearly, by semester, quarterly or monthly. It is highly recommended that payments be made through a bank, either by direct debit, or bank deposit. Monthly payments are due on the 5th of each month.
The failure to pay all school fees by due dates will be addressed in the following manner:
Thirty calendar days after the due date, the Business Office will prepare a letter to the parent responsible for the student’s account, and send it via regular mail, as a reminder of the outstanding debt.
Sixty calendar days after the due date, if tuition and/or other school fees are in arrears, the Business Office will prepare a letter, signed by the Director of Finance and Operations (DFO), informing the parent that the school is concerned about the fact that the payment is in arrears and that a service charge will be assessed on outstanding balances as detailed below. The letter will also state that unpaid balances at April 15th will result in the denial of matriculation for the following academic year, unless a payment plan, approved by the DFO, is agreed upon and adhered to.
SERVICE CHARGE
Sixty calendar days after the due date, and every thirty days thereafter, tuition and/or other school fees in arrears will be assessed a service charge of 1.0% (12% on a yearly basis) of the unpaid balance.
The failure to meet all financial obligations to the school may result in the referral of any uncollected debt to a collection agent for resolution.
Bank receipts for matriculation payments will state that final confirmation of a space for the following academic year is subject to all existing financial obligations to the school being met satisfactorily. BFIS also reserves the right to reject any matriculation payment.
EARLY DEPARTURE PENALTY
In cases where BFIS is informed of the length of stay or any changes regarding enrollment before July 15th, no penalty will be assessed. In cases where students leave BFIS earlier than expected or inform BFIS of any changes regarding enrollment after July 15th, families will be required to pay 50% of the remaining fees due, based on the expected tenure. Capital fund fees are payable in full regardless of the student’s tenure, and are only refundable if the student does not attend BFIS.
PARTIAL-DAY ATTENDANCE
There is no discount for students attending school for only a part of the school day.
BFIS GRADUATES DISCOUNT
50% of Capital Fund fee and 100% of Application fee will be waived for children of BFIS graduates.
EAL Testing
There is no additional charge over and above the Application fee for first-time EAL test-takers. In the event the EAL test is to be repeated the cost is 100 EUR.
ADDITIONAL COPIES OF TRANSCRIPTS
There is no charge associated with requests for additional copies of transcripts by BFIS Alumni.
