| I am originally from Cedarburg, Wisconsin, a small suburb of Milwaukee. Prior to making Barcelona my home, I spent five years living in Arizona, where I taught fifth grade in a Bilingual/Dual Language program.
Spain has been my “home away from home” for a long time. As an undergraduate student, I lived with a Spanish host family in Valladolid, Spain, and studied at the local university. I returned to Spain various times for travel and professional development opportunities. I began working at BFIS in 1999. I married a Catalan, and we have a daughter, who we are bringing up tri-lingual!
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a Bachelors Degree in Journalism and Spanish. After moving to Arizona, I attended Arizona State University where I pursued my Elementary Teaching Certificate and Bilingual/ESL Endorsements. I received my Masters of Science in Education degree through the University of New England.
