This year I have happily accepted a new role at BFIS as the Curriculum Coordinator. After working closely with Dan Phillips over the past several years, as well as cultivating my own interests through accreditation visits, conferences and workshops, I feel ready to apply myself to this new challenge.

The past near-decade I have been a high school Chemistry teacher, teaching all levels of chemistry to a range of students. I have seized opportunities to chaperone trips with students, such as the BFIS Cultural Field Trips, and value the experiences these trips can provide our students.

Since arriving at BFIS, I began teaching high school Math and taking students to an international math competition hosted by various international schools in Europe. This is yet another highly rewarding experience for both students and coach.

For the last two years, I have worked with the student leaders through Student Council, helping organize the group and give them direction, responsibilities and opportunities to make an impact on student life. While we have made huge strides, it is fair to say we still have plenty of room for improvement :-)

Technology is an important part of my professional and personal life. I see it as a tool to help me be more efficient and better at my jobs. This website is one of my technology projects. I have also enjoyed working with teachers to help them gain more familiarity and exposure to what's possible with existing technology through sessions called Tech Thursdays (2 years ago) as well as more informal opportunities as they arise.
