Benjamin
Franklin has two guidance counselors, one for Elementary and Middle
Schools and another for High School. Our Guidance Counselors are
advocates for students as well as a liaison and resource for faculty
and families. The social and emotional development of students has a
direct impact on their academic success and counselors assist students
in working toward reaching their full potential by monitoring academic
progress and fostering social and emotional development.

On Thursday April 3rd, BFIS will host its annual Career Day.
High School students will not have their regular classes that day but will report, instead, to the main court at 8:55 a.m. when the bell rings.
Mr. David Risher will start off our day with some comments about work and career and then a number of grade 12 students will lead small groups in an activity designed to help students think about their skills, passions and priorities. The second half of the morning will be spent, in the high school building, in career panels in which our guests, from various fields, will describe their work and students will have an opportunity to ask questions.
This is a great opportunity for students to learn about work from people who feel passionately about what they do.
Please note that students will choose two of four panels in homeroom on Tuesday. On Wednesday, lists for the small group work and the career panels will be posted in the main foyer of the high school building.

Introducing Friday College Workshops during High School Lunch (1:45 p.m.) in Ms. McDiarmid's Office (Room 413).
All students are welcome to attend these workshops. If you are a grade 11 student thinking of applying to university outside Spain (and not already in Ms. McDiarmid Counseling 11 class) you should definitely attend!

Getting all of the notes
In order to succeed on
your exams, you will need (for each class) all of the semester notes, arranged
in chronological order. If you do not
have all of your notes, ask a friend if you can borrow them. Photocopy and return them immediately... and
then figure out a way to thank the person.
(Chocolate is almost always a good idea)
