The Benjamin Franklin International School is a unique international school in Barcelona. The essence of BFIS can be better explained by those people that live or have lived memorable experiences at the school.

We have asked our community to describe BFIS and they have characterized it as:

welcoming, multilingual, intense, community, global citizen, caring, in-depth, purposeful, international, joyous, warm, passionate, multi-cultural, unique, dynamic, close, vibrant, small, ambitious, family oriented, challenging, Barcelona, diverse, friendly, real.

We wish to convey this message to all of you with the testimonials of our community.

Community of professionals PDF Print E-mail

"Dear Director,

We wanted to write this letter to express our feelings towards the community of professionals who form BFIS. We found it appropriate to tell you how wonderful your group of teachers and coordinators is. We would love that you shared our feelings with all your team. We have opportunities to thank the teachers of our children personally, but behind them there are many others, there is a full team continuously working!

BFIS is a complex school because of the diversity of languages and personal situation of its members. The result would not be satisfactory without a good professional team. We are very thankful to all! We would love to make special mentions, but that would be just unfair, as the community is a great chain that start at an administrative level and ends on the teacher. Once again, thank you and congratulations to all!! You are doing a great job!"

BFIS is an extremely unique school-it is just like a small version of the world PDF Print E-mail

"I have been a student of Benjamin Franklin International School for two and a half years. I think BFIS is an extremely unique school. It may look small on the outside, but on the inside, it is just like a small version of the world. There are students of various ages from different countries, and a fusion of various cultures is an everyday incident. This is not an experience you can have in many other schools. Since most of the students know each other regardless of age, the atmosphere of this school is very warm as if it were one big family. By interacting with the people here, I was able to broaden my horizons and become aware of the world beyond me. BFIS not only gave me a chance to enrich my perspectives, but it motivated me in my scholarship as well. Since the classes are relatively small, students get direct attention from the teachers and may ask for assistance whenever needed. This is also not a thing you can do in bigger schools. Whoever becomes a student of BFIS is guaranteed to gain both internal and academic experiences that will enlighten their future."

I owe it all to the teachers PDF Print E-mail
Written by BFIS Alumnus

"I just completed my fifth and final year at BFIS, which means my experiences from this unique school are deeply rooted. Even though the five years have not been equally rewarding, the overall BFIS experience has. The two Model UN conferences (Beijing and St. Petersburg) that our school participated in have been academically, as well as socially and culturally, stimulating. Such activities together with the school's exceptional collection of terrific teachers are what made my experiences at BFIS so great. Naturally, the school lacks qualities, such as decent sport facilities, but the teachers make up for that. BFIS has prepared me to the utmost extent, and I owe it all to the teachers. As long as the teachers are recognized as the school's strength, BFIS will always be a centre for students to experience true education."
