T he Benjamin Franklin International School is accredited in the United States by a leading accreditation agency, the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools . We have recently been recommended for re-accreditation for another seven years. The emphasis with the re-accreditation process is on student achievement and the school's adoption of student performance objectives. We selected two objectives: technology competency and service learning and are implementing 26 grade level objectives, 13 for each objective, to judge our students' competency in these two areas.
The school is authorized by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Culture and the regional Catalan government to offer the Spanish High School Diploma.
We are a full members of both the Mediterranean Association of International Schools and the European Council of International Schools.
Our school is sponsored by the Office of Overseas Schools , within the United States Department of State.
