Choir

Our students participate in the choir of the Mediterranean Association of International Schools (MAIS) and have traveled to Rome, Madrid, Tunis and Trieste to perform. The 2006 MAIS Choir gathered in Casablanca, Morocco.

Terry Fox Run

A major event each June for our Elementary School is the annual Terry Fox Run . Children participate in a fun run and Terry Fox Run collect pledges. The money raised money goes towards cancer research.

Talent Show

Every year in June, students are offered the opportunity to display their artistic talents in a small concert. Students sing, dance, read poems or play a musical instrument.

Young Author's Festival

Another June event is the Young Author's Festival where each Elementary student produces a book which is displayed in the School Library.

MS/HS Cultural Field Trips

The Cultural Field Trips are unique learning opportunities that take place each year at the end of September for all Middle & High School students. By traveling to various points of historical and natural value in Catalunya (Middle School) or around Spain (High School) students at BFIS become more deeply connected to their cultural surroundings, and are able to interact with their teachers and classmates outside of the traditional academic setting. As BFIS values the cultivation of global citizens, these trips continue to be important and memorable experiences for our secondary students!

High School Prom

Every May, the High School Student Council organizes the annual High School Prom for students in grades 9-12. This festive occasion is an opportunity to celebrate with the seniors at one of the culminating traditions for BFIS seniors. Students and chaperones dress for the dinner and dance, which has historically been held at different Barcelona hotels.

Junior-Senior Dinner

The Junior-Senior dinner is an original BFIS tradition that celebrates the graduating class in a humorous and thoughtful event. Taking place in June, Junior class members prepare an elaborate evening in honor of the Senior class. Accordingly, the Junior class works the entire year in preparation for this special occasion, which not only enhances the sense of community among these students, but also creates memories that are etched with BFIS graduates long after they have moved on from high school.
