Introducing Friday College Workshops during High School Lunch (1:45 p.m.) in Ms. McDiarmid's Office (Room 413).

All students are welcome to attend these workshops.  If you are a grade 11 student thinking of applying to university outside Spain  (and not already in Ms. McDiarmid Counseling 11 class) you should definitely attend!

 

Friday February 1: Considering University

  • An introduction to the college search and application process
  • What system are you looking at?  Spain, U.K. USA, Canada, Other? 

Friday February 22: Making your List of Priorities for University

  • What are some factors that you should be thinking about? 

Friday February 29: Career Exploration - Three Question to Consider:

  • What are you passionate about?
  • What are you good at?
  • What are your priorities?
  • Homework: MBTI is due March 5th

Friday March 14: Careers Continued

  • MBTI is returned and we will explore the relationship between personality and career choice 

Friday March 28: The TESTS

  • SAT
  • SAT II
  • TOEFL

Friday April 11: The Research Process

  • Where do you look to find schools that are right for you?
  • How do you know what the university requires
  • Resources available in the Counseling Office 

Friday April 25: Developing the Long List 

Friday May 9: Looking at the University Application

  • The Personal Essay 

Friday May 23: What should you be doing over the summer?

  • University campus visits
  • Writing SAT/ SAT II/ TOEFL
  • Moving from a long list to a short list
