To apply for admission to Benjamin Franklin International School, follow these steps:
1. Completion of Application Form available in English and Spanish.
For ALL applicants. Please check off the list and make sure the following documents are sent:
____Completed 4 page Application
____90 euros Application Fee per applicant (non refundable)
____Recent ID photo
____Copy of passport or birth certificate
____Medical Certificate
____Copy of vaccination records
____Copies of any special testing/achievement evaluation reports IOWA, SAT, etc.
Please check off and make sure that required documentation according to specific grades is included:
____Grades N – K. Current progress report from teacher
____Grades 1-5. Last two years academic progress and behavior reports
____Grades 6-8. Reports on academic progress and behavior - past two years. Comprehensive comments from teachers. One handwritten essay (min. 200 words)- MS Essay
____Grades 9-12. Official transcripts showing complete HS record. Two letters of recommendation; one from school principal or counselor and one from a core teacher who knows the student well. Two handwritten essays ( approx. 250 words each essay) HS Essay 1 and HS Essay 2

2. Payment of the application fee of 90 euros. Information on payment here.
Applicants are requested to pay a non-refundable application fee per applicant.
Once the fee is paid, the BFIS Admissions Office will start processing the application and admission documents.
3. Parent/Student Interview and Screening
-Parents and students will be requested to meet with the Admissions Coordinator
-Additionally, the following interviews/tests will take place before a final decision on admission can be taken:
-All Nursery applicants will be assessed
-Further internal assessment might take place in Mathematics and or Reading Comprehension for students in grades 4 to 12
-ESL (English as a Second Language) testing is mandatory for non-native English speakers applying for grades 4 to 12
-Learning Support testing by specialists will take if necessary
4. Notification
Shortly after the Admissions Team makes a final decision on acceptance, applicants will be notified.
If accepted, parents will be requested to complete the Matriculation form.
At that time, the Matriculation Fee and the Capital Fund Fee (both non-refundable) must be paid to guarantee the placement of the child/ren.
Once the Business Office has received payments, the student is officially enrolled at Benjamin Franklin International School.
