Giving to Benjamin Franklin International School
Written by Jane Narich

Benjamin Franklin International School was founded by parents who had the vision of establishing a truly international school in Barcelona, a school where students of all nationalities could benefit from an authentic American education and the best of American, Spanish, and world cultures.classroom.jpg

That dream continues to this day with our enrollment policy of a one-third American, one-third Spanish/Catalan, and one-third international students per grade level fostering a genuine cross-cultural learning environment.

BFIS does not receive any financial support from either the Spanish or the regional Catalan Governments. We rely on annual tuition fees and a small grant from the Office of Overseas Schools, within the United States Department of State.

Independence comes at a price and we are currently seeking contributions to support new educational technology and ongoing improvements to the campus.

For those who value the independence and the special character of Benjamin Franklin, we seek the help of current and past parents, students, faculty, alumni, and friends to help advance our founders' dream for the next generation of BFIS students.

We offer donors the option of donating in either Spain or the United States.

The BFIS Foundation (registered number 51 0307345) is a United States 501(c) 3 non-profit organisation, ensuring that all donations made in the US are tax deductible.

Under Spanish taxation law (NIF: G58203522), the school is able to offer tax deductibility for donations made in Spain. We are also registered by the Generalitat de Catalunya (number 242).
