Child Safeguarding

BFIS is committed to safeguarding our students by creating a culture of transparency and openness. Our staff speak out about unsafe practices around children. The school culture is one where we prevent opportunities for any individuals who might take advantage of the young people in our care.  Our Child Safeguarding and Protection handbook outlines our school’s policy and practice, our staff code of conduct and our recruiting practices. It is aligned with the international standards of the Council of International Schools and the International Task Force for Child Protection. At BFIS we conduct all onboarding and ongoing child protection training for teachers, operational staff, substitute teachers, coaches and monitors supervising buses, after-school and summer programs.
