Child Safeguarding
BFIS is committed to safeguarding our students by creating a culture of transparency and openness. Our staff speak out about unsafe practices around children. The school culture is one where we prevent opportunities for any individuals who might take advantage of the young people in our care. Our Child Safeguarding and Protection handbook outlines our school’s policy and practice, our staff code of conduct and our recruiting practices. It is aligned with the international standards of the Council of International Schools and the International Task Force for Child Protection. At BFIS we conduct all onboarding and ongoing child protection training for teachers, operational staff, substitute teachers, coaches and monitors supervising buses, after-school and summer programs. All staff members on our campus undergo regularly scheduled refresher training to ensure that they are up-to-date and knowledgeable about the ways that we safeguard our children.

All School
The Technology and Innovation coach collaborates and consults with the leadership team, and coaches teachers and will bring pedagogical and technical knowledge to design and implement meaningful professional development for our staff. The successful candidate will have experience in the use of technology in the classroom, as well as a strong background in education and instructional design. A strong candidate will also have experience working with international schools and will be familiar with an American curriculum and ISTE student, teacher and education leader standards.
The Head of IB MYP Curriculum and Learning /IB Middle Years Programme Coordinator (MYPC) leads the School’s 6-10 Curriculum and is a coach and mentor to faculty from 6-10th Grade. They will support the intentional and systematic reflection, research based practice, and future-oriented thinking that underpin our Vision for Learning. The MYPC works closely with the Secondary and Elementary Leadership teams to ensure consistency of approach in meeting curriculum standards.
Elementary School
Elementary school substitute teachers
All Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of relevant teaching experience (except for Associate positions). Substitute teachers must have work permit in Spain.
Middle and High School
All Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of relevant teaching experience. Substitute teachers must have work permit in Spain.
Administration and Operations
Required IT certificate equivalent to Spanish Formación Profesional: Grado en administración de Sistemas Informáticos o grado en sistemas microinformáticos y redes.
Other studies related to the field will be considered.
