Professional Learning
BFIS makes a concerted effort each year to provide outstanding professional development opportunities for the staff. We recognize the importance of active learning sustained throughout life – for our students, our staff, and our teachers. One of the essential qualities within the BFIS faculty is a commitment to ongoing growth and reflection. Professional development at BFIS takes place all year long.
On Wednesdays, our teaching staff to participate in Professional and Collaborative Time (PACT). Staff members remain at school for an extended day and engage in a variety of professional learning experiences and discussions related to teaching and learning at BFIS.
We collaborate with other international schools in Spain to offer the best PD to our staff and bring highly qualified consultants and educational experts, as well as the opportunity to exchange best practices such among our teaching communities.
Throughout the year, teachers and BFIS instructional coaches have co-planned, co-taught, analyzed student data, created resources, and had important conversations about what students need most in relation to teaching and learning.
