Coding at Com Med classes
Scratch is a program that was developed by researchers at MIT. This coding interface inspires creativity through gaming, animations, and storytelling and was designed to be accessible to all types of learners and profiles. Our middle school students at BFIS do exactly that; they program! One of the introductory assignments in the Com Med class is to create a dance animation by coding blocks that have their subject (also called a Sprite) move and interact with it's background or environment. Students follow a set of guidelines for what the code must include and design/create their own animation.
