School Fall Overnight Trips

No matter the year or grade, school overnight trips remain one of the most memorable experiences for our students. The intentional curriculum, social interactions and exciting tours and activities combine to create memories to last a lifetime. Our students from Grade 4 to Grade 12 spent three days filled with sports, team building and cultural activities in different locations in Spain.

Grades 4 and 5 spent their days in La Molina, Girona, surrounded by mountains and green pastures. Grades 6 to 10 went to different beach destinations in Catalonia, and Grades 11 and 12 flight to Granada and Sevilla, in the south of Spain.

These days were full of experiential learning! Swimming with Tuna, windsurfing, sailing, caving , canyoning, birdwatching, Islamic architecture, dancing and wildlife-there was something for everyone.
Spring 2023 will be the time for our lower Elementary students to enjoy their overnight trips in nature.

These experiential trips are a core part of our program. They are a great opportunity for students to solidify friendships and, really importantly, build new ones as well. Teachers as well get to know students in a different context and this, although perhaps indirectly, improves learning.

Some of the most impressive growth we have seen in students can sometimes be ignited by these trips. Students find ways with support to navigate complex terrain – whether it be literal terrain or social terrain – and in turn, as mentioned before, not only helps them catalyze their individual potential but also their collective potential.
