Last Saturday, April 2, 2022 marked the inaugural BFIS Model United Nations Conference. Over forty students from different schools were involved as they took on the roles of diplomats from different countries, representing their nation in discussions on the conference’s topic Promoting Harmony in a Globalized World. Dan McDougal Film-Maker, Screenwriter and award winning Foreign Correspondent opened the conference. Impressive opening key notes as well from our Grade 12 student Carlota F. calling for action.
The conference lasted two days with non-stop productivity and discussion, as delegates aimed to write and pass resolutions addressing the topic described above.
Thanks to Isid Spaho (Social Studies teacher) and Carlotta Figueroa Ortiz (Grade 12 student) for their passion and commitment that got this conference off the ground.
The Model United Nations Conference is an international and multicultural event where our students from around the world come togheter to experience an educational simulation of a real United Nations (UN) conference.
