Grade 5 Innovation Fair

Friday, June 15, 2018

The fifth graders hosted the first ever Innovation Fair last Wednesday where they presented various inventions and action steps to combat the issue of air, water, and land pollution. This was the final project for their science unit, where students used inquiry to answer the question, "What can individuals and communities do to help protect Earth's resources and environments?"  Students discovered that human activities in agriculture, industry, and everyday life have had major effects on the land, vegetation, streams, ocean, air, and even outer space. Fortunately, individuals and communities are doing things to help protect Earth’s resources and environments. During the Innovation Fair students presented a call to action, explaining why pollution is a problem that must be solved. They did an incredible job presenting their ideas to parents, fourth grade, and teachers and should be very proud!
