IB Results 2019
Last July, over 169,000 International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program (DP) students across the world received their results from the May 2019 examination session. This year, our seventh year of IBDP graduates, we had 57 diploma candidates (100% of students took the full IB Diploma Program) and our pass rate was 98.2% this year and 99.55% four year average, a number far above the provisional worldwide average.
It is also worth mentioning that 32 BFIS candidates (56%) were awarded the bilingual diploma. BFIS average score reached 32.3 points. BFIS highest score was 42 points. It is also possible that these scores may increase as some exams get reassessed in the coming weeks. Our IB results since 2013 (BFIS first IBDP cohort) are specially rewarding since BFIS encourages ALL students to study the full IB Diploma Program. Our graduates are also obtaining the American High School Diploma and 44% requested their certificates for the Spanish Bachillerato as well.
BFIS students from Class 2019 gained entry into a range of competitive colleges and universities worldwide, including University of Oxford, London School of Economics, Durham University, University of Bath, New York University, Duke University or one of the most competitive schools in the world, NYU Abu Dhabi. Once again, above 70% of our students got accepted into their first choice of university in 2019.
The significant accomplishments of our students in such a challenging academic program are a credit to their hard work and to the efforts of our faculty and families in supporting them over the two-year course. Our role as a school now is to use the data from these exams to help our program get even stronger, which will be work for the fall. Until then, we wish our Class of 2019 every success as they enter the next phase of their life and education.
