Joanna Moppett, a passionate educator hailing from the United Kingdom, has traversed a diverse and enriching career path dedicated to fostering dynamic learning experiences. With a solid foundation in education, Joanna spent eight years as a dedicated Primary School teacher in the UK, leaving an indelible mark on the minds of countless young learners.

 

Seeking new horizons, Joanna ventured beyond borders to Dubai, where she took on the role of a Year 5/6 teacher. Her time in the bustling city saw her commitment to making learning enjoyable and meaningful, both inside and outside the traditional classroom setting. Joanna’s innovative approach to education extended beyond textbooks, incorporating a blend of outdoor activities to instill a love for learning in her students.

 

Fueled by a desire to take her teaching beyond conventional boundaries, Joanna embarked on a transformative journey. She underwent a slight career shift, dedicating a year to becoming a certified outdoor instructor back in the UK. This pivotal period involved rigorous training and the acquisition of qualifications in Paddlesports, Archery, and an immersive exploration of bushcraft skills.

 

Joanna’s profound connection with the outdoors solidified during this transformative year, recognizing the profound impact it can have on children’s holistic development. Armed with her newfound expertise and unwavering passion, Joanna transitioned into her current role as the Forest School teacher at BFIS. Over the past year and a half, she has played a pivotal role in the school’s growth, successfully nurturing the Forest School program.

 

As the Forest School teacher, Joanna Moppett has become a beacon for outdoor education, instilling in her students a deep appreciation for nature and the invaluable lessons it holds. Her innovative and holistic approach to teaching continues to make a lasting impact, ensuring that the students at BFIS not only excel academically but also develop a lifelong connection with the natural world.
