MODEL UN @ BFIS
This November, BFIS Model UN students attended BCN Model UN organized by the American School of Barcelona (ASB) for the sixth year. The conference typically takes place the last week of November, hosting a variety of local and international schools with as many as 500 students. Each year's theme is designed to raise awareness about global issues, incite students to take action and provide a great bonding experience.
The Model UN club at BFIS has experienced exponential growth in the past four years with student numbers doubling in participation. Our new mentor program provides opportunities for the executive team and the most experienced members to train those that are new in the club, while passing on their experiences with research, writing clauses, and debating skills.
It was no surprise that once again, numerous students from BFIS received honorable mentions based on their excellent resolutions, debating skills, and overall participation during the duration of the conference. Congratulations to all students that proudly represent BFIS while off campus and that make me proud to be the director of the Model UN club while setting an example for future members. In particular, congratulations to students with honorable mentions: Chloe Mossberg, Jose Pablo Muniz, Orscar Tluszcz, Zoe Davis, Xocas Alvarez and Martina de Pablo.
Finally, thank you to parents, administration, and teachers for always supporting our students in participating in Model UN.
