Professional Development with Paul Andersen
Paul Andersen has returned to lead professional learning for the secondary science cohort of teachers from BFIS, ASM and ASB. In this session, teachers continued to build understanding of the shifts required by the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Paul taught a G9 class to demonstrate strategies for the teachers on the science and engineering practice of argumentation from evidence. In this demo lesson, G9 learners analyzed data in order to make a claim with evidence and reasoning. Teachers also spent time working collaboratively across the three schools to develop assessments and units that are aligned to the NGSS.
