We believe all students should have the opportunity, instruction, guidance, and support necessary to succeed in school and maximize their individual academic, social, and emotional potential. How We Support Your Child's Learning
At BFIS, our learning support team helps students with mild to moderate learning differences thrive by teaching them strategies and offering extra help. To create the most inclusive environment, our specialists often join classes to assist individual students and small groups. They also work closely with teachers to set and achieve learning goals for each child.
Depending on your child's needs, support might be provided directly in class or through smaller group sessions, always building on their strengths and focusing on areas where they need additional support. If a student requires more specialized assistance than we can provide, we'll partner with you to connect them with outside experts.
Empowering Bilingual and Multilingual Learners
BML (Bilingual/Multilingual) Specialists play a vital role in supporting students who are learning English to ensure students receive the best possible learning experience. They co-plan lessons and collaboratively identify strategies and resources for the general classroom, regularly reviewing their effectiveness and analyzing student progress data.
BML Specialists also provide targeted English language instruction and work closely with teachers to determine student needs. They create support materials for the mainstream classroom and use data to set goals and provide the necessary instruction to help students achieve them.
Enrichment
The BFIS Enrichment program is a spark that sets our school apart. Rooted in our vision and values, it offers each student unique opportunities to discover, grow, and pursue their dreams. Inspired by Benjamin Franklin’s diverse achievements, the program nurtures a wide range of passions and skills, fostering well-rounded, accomplished individuals.
